Wind-driven grass fire

At approximately 1316 , the B-shift crew, along with multiple off duty members, and our partners from the corridor and beyond battled a fast moving grass fire yesterday. While ultimately growing to nearly 100 acres, quick and decisive action by all crews involved protected multiple residences, and nearly a dozen outbuildings and trailers.

Departments responding includes Strasburg, Deer Trail, Byers, Bennett, Sable-Altura, Rattlesnake Fire, and the Arapahoe County Wildland team. The South Metro Fire IDT responded and provided communication support, as well as digital and thermal mapping of the fire. Arapahoe and Adams County deputies assisted with traffic control and preperation for possible evacuations.

All units cleared the scene by 1710

Well done and strong work to all involved!
