Backyard Weather Stations

Do you have a well-placed personal weather station at your home or business?  Would you like to share your data with the world?  You can if you send your data to the Citizen Weather Observing Program (CWOP)! CWOP is a volunteer-based network that allows owners of personal weather stations to share their station’s live data with the National Weather Service, emergency managers, wildland firefighters, and Universities worldwide. The NWS office in Boulder relies on personal weather stations to help fill the gaps in observations, and this data is especially important in rural areas, like Strasburg, where the gaps are bigger.
