Fire Ban Levels
Strasburg Fire's protection district is made up of two counties, Adams and Arapahoe. County wide fire restrictions are determined by the government authorities for each jurisdiction and enforced by both the fire department and sheriff's office. This is why there are 2 different fire restriction levels on our home page. Most of the time they are the same, but sometimes they are not. The county of the burn address determines the rules for burning, however, if it is in Strasburg Fire Protection District, a burn permit is always required and may be found HERE.
General Definitions
| NO BAN | Open burning allowed with permit. Class A materials (wood, paper, fabric and etc.) only which may be extinguished using water. Burn must be supervised at all times. |
| STAGE 1 | No fireworks or burn piles. Cooking grills and small campground fires in contained pits are ok. Burn must be supervised at all times. |
| STAGE 2 | No burning of any kind permitted. Gas grills which do not produce sparks or embers are excepted. Extreme fire behavior conditions exist. |
